Our Teaching & Belief
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and our final authority for faith and practice. Below is a summary of our key doctrines with selected Scripture references.
We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ, the promised Messiah, fully God and fully man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, Emmanuel – “God with us”.
Isaiah 7:14‑15; Isaiah 9:6‑7; Matthew 1:18‑25
We believe that all have sinned and need to repent, turning to God in faith in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins. Through repentance and faith we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, a promise for us, our children and all whom the Lord will call.
Acts 2:38‑39
We believe that water baptism is an outward sign of an inward work of grace – a pledge of a clear conscience toward God through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 3:21‑22
We believe in one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son (the Word) and Holy Spirit. All things exist through Him and for Him, and we are called to make disciples in the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
1 John 5:7‑8 (KJV); 1 Corinthians 8:6; Matthew 28:18‑20
We believe that Holy Communion is a New Covenant meal in which we remember and proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes, examining ourselves and partaking in faith.
1 Corinthians 11:23‑28
We believe we are called to joyful praise and heartfelt worship of the Lord, entering His presence with thanksgiving, singing and adoration.
Psalm 138:1‑2; Psalm 100:1‑5
We believe in a life of continual prayer, faith in God and dependence on the Holy Spirit, who helps us understand what God has freely given us. By faith we speak God’s Word and walk in the mind of Christ.
Matthew 6:9‑13; 1 Thessalonians 5:17; Mark 11:22‑24; Hebrews 11; 1 Corinthians 2:12‑16
We believe that God is love and that we are called to love one another sacrificially in deed and in truth. As we love, God’s love is made complete in us.
1 Corinthians 13:1‑13; 1 John 3:16‑18; 1 John 4:7‑12
We believe the Kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. We are called to live holy, healthy lives that honour Christ in body, soul and spirit.
Psalm 119:9; Daniel 1:8‑17; Matthew 4:4; Romans 14:17‑18
We believe we are called to generous hospitality and compassionate giving, especially to the poor and vulnerable. We use the gifts God has given us to serve others as faithful stewards of His grace.
Luke 6:38; Matthew 25:34‑41; Acts 4:31‑35; Acts 20:35; Proverbs 19:17; 1 Peter 4:8‑10

John 1:12; 1 John 3:1‑2
We believe that Jesus Christ will come again in glory, just as He ascended, and that we eagerly await His return, praying “Come, Lord Jesus”.
